school admission

My little one is about 2 years old just right to go to a regular school next year. And as I see the parents of similar age groups .. everyone is so hasseled about school admissions. Is this such a big deal for these little toddlers who are just getting to know the world ? I will be going for my first interview as a parent tommorrow, to be very frank I am very anxious and nervous. I don't think so I would have been so bothered for my job interview or for that matter MBA Group Discussion. May be that's what is Parenthood. I don't know what to prepare .. other than talking to other parents and developing goosebumps. Will this curiosity & anxiousness of ours take away the childhood of our kids .. I dont know. I can only say that "just let your hair down & enjoy life as it comes" .. you have to become icons for these little angels. Everything .. no no .. most of the things are learnt at home :-). Writing some philisophy to cheer myself !!

Hail Obama

Nov 5 will be etched as a golden date in the pages of world history. Congratulations to myself as I was strongly supporting him. All the TV channels & Internet are flooded with news of the same .. analysts & academicians forecasting the world to be. I was highly impressed by the way Obama could market himself and became a choice of the majority with a whopping win. The entire country & most of the world is rejoicing but a colleague of mine who is in Chicago currently at this spectacular moment, preferred to rest her senses than be a party to all the fun.. Personal choice though! Enough has already been written by the experts about "the changing world" and I am a novice so no commnets. As in the blood my sis in US is also a strong supporter of Obama.. and she always said Obama will win and US will have theits "Golden Era" . Hail Obama!!

baby shower

Over the weekend I was invited to attend a baby shower function by a close friend of mine. It was an amazing experience with the cute games and the feeling of "to-be-mom" got refreshed in my memory. It was like yesterday .. when I was carrying. Though I did not have a baby shower for myself... nevertheless. During this phase of mood swings it is fun to feel special and become the cynosure of all eyes. There was a dress code defined - Purple or Pink .. who can ever think of this option. But yes someone who wants to display the new outfit. Amidst all this fun the food was awesome .. the kababs were the best (I am on strict diet though.. but could not let go off the kababs). The "to-be-mom" unpacked the gifts guessing all along and being surprised at everything. Happniess knew no boundaries when I was announced the winner for one of the games. All good things come to end and so was the party. After several photo sessions we left for our home but all the fun & frolic will always be there in my mind.
